History
ECA Investment Group, Inc., a well-established Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm, was founded in 1986 by Edward S. Crooks. Brian D. Selby acquired part of the firm from Ed in 1997. Since its founding, ECA has grown to approximately $400 million in managed assets.
Edward Crooks and Brian Selby founded Counsel Trust Company in January 2002. Counsel Trust is a Pennsylvania state chartered trust company providing a full range of custodial, trust, and fiduciary services to clients.
A chronology of important ECA events:
- 1986 – ECA Investment Group, Inc. opened for business.
- 1997 – Brian Selby acquired a portion of the firm from Ed Crooks.
- 1999 – David Wells joined ECA as a Principal.
- 2002 – ECA opened an office in York.
David Dolan joined ECA as a Principal.
- 2007 – ECA relocated its York office across the street to its current location, having outgrown its previous space.
- The following people joined Counsel Trust Company and work closely with the Principals of ECA.
